@KateKayeReports The purpose of IABEU's TCF framework was to give the "legitimate interest" legal basis "technical" respectability, so most implementations use it as a smokescreen to avoid giving people conrol over cookies (aka browser based storage).

Its simply not true that all CMPs ("Cookie Popups") were created by AdTech. They did come up with the TCF smokescreen in 2018 in attempt to validate their bogus LI loophole, but even back in 2011 there were properly #ePrivacy compliant tools, e.g. ours (baycloud.ie)

@Chronotope Not all CMPs use TCF. Ours, baycloud.com (which was the first - years before the TCF), manages all non-exempted 1st-pty & 3rd-pty cookies & other storage, blocking their use by default until valid informed consent has been given, ability to change mind, expiry etc.

@okeefekat Baycloud's automated scanner reports all the browser storage accessed by sites, i.e. indexDB, localStorage, as well as all cookies, along with other risks such as CNAME redirection, GA with missing AIP etc.
