@K8Fryman You underestimate the amount of risk nowadays for men in these situations. Tons of people do martial arts training or you end up getting prosecuted like Daniel Penny. The only women I am going to take that kind of risk for are my wife and daughter.

They do not have your best interests at heart. While they push open borders and cheap global labor for everyone else they live behind gates and private security. They take our guns, put cut-off switches on our cars, tax us into submission, and spend our own money figuring out how to suppress and control us. Cheap labor isn't just a way for them to profit, it is a way for them to suppress us. Flooding the market is not compassion to other countries. It is control.

I swear this post isn't about me so hang in there while I make a point while referencing myself. I have several degrees. MBA, MS in IT, chemical engineering degree, industrial technical degree, and another IT-related degree. Only the masters degrees were earned recently. Only one of these degrees treated people as anything more than an interchangeable asset. The MBA was top line and bottom line all the way. Definitions, marketing, global finance, how FLSA and SOX came about. People were barely mentioned except as labor costs to be managed. The Masters in IT openly taught that manpower should be offshored and outsourced. Humans were presented as the problem. Automation was the solution. There was heavy overlap with the MBA content. The only degree where instructors and the curriculum actually talked about people as people, to be trained, developed, and treated as essential to the operation, was my chemical engineering degree. We studied how safety depends on people, how optimization and improvement rely on human judgment, and how everyone on the floor has a place no matter their title, degree, or background. I walked around for years thinking the executives were taught and felt the same, then I earned me MBA. I couldn't have been more wrong. They have no grasp of what makes someone get out of bed ready to put in their best work. No grasp. That is wild when you stop and think about it. I have held a full time job since age 14. I have worked food service, construction, stocking shelves, fieldwork, running plants, and leading teams across nearly every technical discipline. I love to work. I honestly believe most people do, many just don't realize it. Now imagine someone who went straight from college into management with zero real world experience outside the classroom. No time on the floor. No attachment to the humans who actually make the systems run. Just a cold financial spreadsheet to decide success or failure. Those are increasingly the people running our companies. They are not evil. They are simply untrained in the human element. They see labor as a line item to be minimized. They believe people are interchangeable. They optimize for short term numbers and wonder why long term performance collapses. Success has always been about people and how you manage them. It will never be about managing the top and bottom line on a spreadsheet unless you are doing a short term surgical private equity play. For long term success you have to recognize that human cost savings rarely deliver the savings they promise. People are not interchangeable. Organizations that treat them as such end up with employees who treat the employer as interchangeable too. When I sit in C suite roles and look at what is happening across industry and our keystone institutions, I see slow motion train wrecks. People who look perfect on paper but could not lead a rescue party if their plane went down are expected to guide complex human organizations through very human events. As much as I post I can't begin to do it from the perspective of someone that feels success can be achieved without people. In fact, I couldn't call that success. Real question for the engineers, operators, and managers reading this: What was the moment you realized your organization was being run by people who had never actually done the work?
