Private balances, private sends/receives, and full auditability. Institutions asked for all three.
@chrisandreola explains how @PrivacyBoost delivers it to OP Stack chains.
How Privacy Boost helps OP Enterprise serve institutional clients ↓
OP Enterprise gives fintechs, exchanges, and financial institutions managed OP Stack infrastructure. Privacy wasn't part of the OP Stack's original design, and for institutional use cases that's a gap worth closing.
@sunnyside_io , as Optimism core developers, built Privacy Boost to close it. OP Enterprise clients get priority integration support.
What enterprises get:
• Traditional-finance-grade privacy: Sender, receiver, and amount shielded on-chain — just like traditional payment rails.
• Compliant by design: Transactions hidden from the public, fully auditable for AML and other compliance requirements.
• Drop-in SDK: No migration to a new chain. Existing finance apps can add onchain features without a rebuild.
• Finance-app performance: Fast enough that your existing users get the same experience as the services they already use.
• Self-custody: Users hold their assets directly — no platform or operator risk.
Try it on @Optimism Mainnet and @soneium .
Proud to join Pacific Meta's Global Blockchain Partner Solutions as the sole privacy solution.
Japanese enterprises and users deserve to transact onchain without exposing every move to the public.
That's what Privacy Boost brings.
Let's build 🇯🇵

3/ On April 7, @sunnyside_io launched Privacy Boost, the first privacy infra built natively for the OP Stack:
- Sub-500ms proof generation
- 1,800 tps throughput
- ZK-proofs + trusted execution environments
Targets institutions that previously kept treasury, payroll, and counterparty positions off public chains due to ledger transparency. @soneium announced a planned integration on April 28.

: : What is Institutional-Grade Blockchain Privacy?
Blockchain privacy is no longer a question of how much can be hidden. The real question is what kind of privacy can survive contact with financial regulation.
For public blockchains to become institutional financial

AI agents inherit the same privacy needs that human payers have always had, now that they're transacting autonomously.
Here's why.
x402 turns AI agents into autonomous payers, and every payment they make lands on a public ledger. That means every agent's logic, every business's API dependencies, and every vendor relationship gets permanently logged on-chain for competitors to read.
Micropayments are the point of x402: small amounts, high frequency. That frequency is what makes it dangerous. Thousands of tiny payments per agent leak more behavioral data than any traditional B2B invoice ever could. It's keystroke logging for your business operations.
The leak goes both ways. The payer exposes which APIs their agent depends on, how often, and when. The receiver exposes their full customer list, revenue distribution, and pricing tiers. A single payment is a two-way data breach.
Pricing strategy also goes public by default. x402 puts price in the response header, which lands on-chain. Dynamic pricing, volume discounts, enterprise rates, all permanently visible. Price discrimination becomes either impossible or evidence.
Agent wallets become permanent identifiers. Reusing the wallet means 100% cross-service linkability across an agent's entire lifetime, while rotating wallets breaks gas economics and UX. Without privacy, every agent is doxxed for life from its first payment.
Then there's the compliance asymmetry no one talks about. You're required to disclose to auditors and regulators, but there's no reason to disclose to competitors and the public. x402 today gives you all-or-nothing transparency, with no selective disclosure primitive built in.
For x402 to scale into the machine economy, it needs confidential payments with selective disclosure, where audit visibility is preserved without leaking sensitive business data to the open ledger.
Privacy Boost is for x402.
Adding private payments to your app is way easier than you think.
If you've wanted to let your users send tokens without revealing them to anyone else, Privacy Boost can enable the whole flow without having to write a single ZK circuit.
