People don’t realize the backrooms isn’t just a bunch of levels where you find monsters and shit. It’s supposed to be a liminal space where you slowly lose your sense of self because you’re trapped with something you can’t even see u til it’s too late. And that’s why I love it.

It also felt SUPWR REAL because of how the place looked. Despite the things looking odd and out of place, I would swear this place was real and I think that’s what made me feel uncomfortable about the movie and I just fucking love that.

So many people upset the backrooms movie wasn’t levels and had like pool rooms and stuff but lowkey I feel like that would’ve ruined the atmosphere. I like that it stayed just offices because it made it feel like it was just an ordinary place you walk into with no danger.

Backrooms is racist film. It’s technically brilliant, but racist. And it’s a shame during a time where Black studies is being eliminated on college campuses because I fear people are overlooking the obvious tropes and racist callbacks the film ridiculously displays.

@birdmilked yeah I had said this in a reply too! I feel like people just don’t understand the concept of liminal spaces and the horrors they bring and I personally LOVE liminal spaces so that’s why the movie freaked me out a bit and I felt like I was there with them alone

I can see why a lot of people probably didn’t like it though. The movie was most definitely a liminal space horror movie and that’s why I liked it. Liminal spaces are my fucking butter and jam. Also, just very confusing some parts too but I overall liked it
