After 37 matches in just five months across multiple competitions, it's a chance to reset, regroup and recharge before a big second half of the year. Congratulations to Hall of Fame Member, Championship Winner and true club legend, Ted Smith, who has today been recognised as part of the King's Birthday Honours. A member of Australia's squad at the 1956 Olympic Games, Ted's contribution to football extends far beyond South Melbourne. A thoroughly deserved honour for one of Victorian football's true greats.

We were incredibly proud to see our very own Fatima Yousufi represent and captain Afghanistan in a series of international friendly matches during the week. A valued member of our Senior Women's squad, Fatima continues to make an impact both on and off the pitch. Not only does she proudly represent her nation at the highest level, but she has also become a respected voice and leader for the Afghan community, advocating for her people and inspiring others through her actions. It's a big weekend of football coming up at Lakeside, with both our senior squads in action. First up, our Senior Women and Under 20s take centre stage on Saturday afternoon as they host rivals Heidelberg United in a derby clash.

While the decision to part ways with Cohadzic last week came as a surprise to some, it created an opportunity for both parties to openly address and resolve a number of important matters. Those discussions were conducted with honesty and professionalism, producing a renewed alignment on the direction of the club with a clear pathway forward for all. South Melbourne FC and Cohadzic remain united in their shared ambition and commitment to the continued success of the club, the welfare of our players, the love of our fans and the support of our sponsors. The Club’s focus is now squarely on the season ahead and the standards we demand of ourselves on and off the pitch and that we move forward as one club, fully focused on the season ahead. DERBY DAY this Saturday! Our senior women return home for another crucial fixture as we take on Heidelberg at Lakeside Stadium. Following strong home wins over Preston and Bentleigh, the squad will be looking to continue that momentum in one of the biggest matches of the season. Senior kick off is at 3.30pm.

𝗖𝗹𝘂𝗯 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 South Melbourne FC can confirm that Senior Men’s Head Coach Sinisa Cohadzic has departed the club effective immediately. Sinisa has made a significant contribution to South Melbourne both on and off the field over a number of years and has played an important role in one of the club’s most successful recent periods. Under his leadership, the club secured the Australian Championship, Dockerty Cup success and represented South Melbourne with distinction on the national and international stage, including reaching the OFC Pro League Final.   The Board, players, staff and wider South Melbourne family thank Sinisa for his professionalism, commitment and dedication to the club and wish him and his family every success in the future. As a club, our focus now turns to the remainder of the season and achieving the ambitious objectives we have set for South Melbourne Football Club. Further updates regarding coaching arrangements will be communicated in due course.

MATCH DAY | We are on the road today as we take on Hume City at Nasiol Stadium in Broadmeadows. Hume got the better of us back in Round 2, so the aim today is to return the favour in another important clash. Senior kick off is at 2pm, while our Under 23s and Under 20s are also in action across the day.
